Teacher's Supply Closest "Opening the Door Breakfast"
The Post and Courier
November 2007
The Teacher's Supply Closest and its board of directors would like to thank the Charleston community for its strong support of our recent "Opening the Door Breakfast."
Because of the support, $55,000 in donation and pledges was raised to help it accomplish the goal of ensuring every child has the supplies needed to succeed in school.
The Teachers' Supply Closet will be able to server the educational and creative needs of children in the Charleston area by providing a unique means to offer free merchandise, donated from businesses and individuals, for use by teachers in their classrooms.
We also appreciate the support of those who continue to donate and pledge support.
If you wish to donate your time to assist the Teachers' Supply Closet, volunteers are needed to help stock shelves, organize supply drives, maintain inventory and assist teachers when they shop. Volunteers include high school and college students, retirees and members of the business community, all of whom are passionate about our cause.
Last but not least, we would like to thank the students from Mary Ford Elementary School and the Charleston Development Academy for their exemplary behavior and participation in the breakfast program. Their presence made us even more steadfast in our resolve to help all children reach their full potential.
